Kiki in the Meadow

August 25, 2011

One of the things that I have been working on for a few months is a doll-making workshop for our lovely readers – at Handmade Living we think one of the nicest presents that you can give a child is a handmade one. So after much research we found the lovely Juliane Strittmatter –
otherwise known as Fröken Skicklig. Juliane is a trained puppeteer and divides her time between Höör in Sweden and Berlin. She runs online doll-making classes as well as traditional workshops and makes dolls to order. You can read more about her here www.frokenskicklig.blogspot.com.
Anyway we sent an email and after a few months chatting Juliane came up with the idea of Kiki – a doll that you can make without any prior experience. In issue five you’ll find the pattern for her head and in upcoming issues you will find her body and clothes – and you can have a completed Kiki in time for Christmas ( yes I did mention that word! )
Our lovely friends at Myriad have made a Kiki pack so that you can buy all the materials you need in one go. You’ll find all the details of that in the magazine
In the meantime here’s a little taste of what Kiki looks like

I’m interested to see what she looks like but we’re only up to Issue 3 in the shops in New Zealand so I might have to wait a bit longer.

So when and how can I get my hands on this issue / pattern please? 🙂

    Many thanks

    Sarah
